Protect Your Vehicle With A Car Camera

You’ve likely seen dash cam footage from police cars, which is utilized to keep both officers and the public safe. But did you know investing in a dash cam for your own car could benefit you?

Dash cams provide great evidence for any auto accidents you may encounter. If you’re involved in a car accident, you can provide footage to tell what happened and who is at fault. If your car is parked, you can keep your camera rolling in case something happens while you’re away. Aside from this, dash cams can also capture the unexpected things you come upon on your drive, or can even aid in documenting a road trip. There are countless benefits to installing a dash cam in your car.

If you’re considering investing in a dash cam, our Thinkware FXD700 Full HD Car DVR Blackbox Camera with GPS is a great choice. This dash cam provides 1920×1080 Full HD Video Recording with a 16GB memory card. This amazing picture quality will provide great footage, whether it will be used for evidence or fun memories.

The different recording modes allow you to capture the footage that you want. Continuous recording is automatically activated when you start the engine, and there is no need to recharge or replace the battery. The built-in gyro sensor detects impact, and with Incident recording, starts saving footage 10 seconds before an impending collision. When the car isn’t running, the camera goes into Parking Mode, which acts upon motion detection. This motion detection can also catch any potential burglars lurking around your car.

With built-in GPS, speed and location can be determined. This can be especially helpful for any accidents on the road, as people sometimes forget the details before impact. The GPS can also help you keep an eye on your kids and their driving habits.

Improve your car safety with our Thinkware FXD700 Full HD Car DVR Blackbox Camera with GPS. With a beautiful design, convenient features, and a cost-effective price, you’ll be pleased with your purchase.

Surveillance Cameras Cut Crime Rates

When residents voice concerns about safety, it’s important for authorities to listen and take action. In Rancho Cordova, that’s exactly what they did. Public surveillance has been put into place to help curb crime rates and keep residents safe.

Authorities have implemented a public surveillance system which seems to be working and well liked by most residents. There are warning signs and surveillance cameras that are clearly visible in public areas, with more to come. Being so transparent with the surveillance allows these measures to positively influence people’s behavior. Knowing you are being watched often persuades people to be on their best behavior, abiding by rules and regulations to avoid any negative consequences.

But the key to the success of this public surveillance program is keeping a close watch on live feeds in real time. This allows authorities to become proactive, possibly preventing incidents from occurring, rather than reacting after the crime has occurred. In Rancho Cordova, the live feed is available to the police stations as well as officers in their vehicles. Live monitoring also allows for better reaction times, as officers can gauge the severity of situations and prioritize accordingly.

While some residents have raised privacy concerns, authorities assure them that these cameras are installed in public arenas, not in areas where there’s an expectation of privacy.

Does your neighborhood or city implement a similar system? Have you noticed a difference in your safety and crime rates? Share your experiences and opinions with us. Find us on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and Pinterest.

What Are Network IP Cameras?

Sure, you’ve heard of network IP cameras, but do you really know what they are? From the outside, network IP cameras look like your standard security camera. However, network IP cameras are much more than what meets the eye.

IP stands for “Internet Protocol” which is a practice of transmitting data across a network. In the case of network IP cameras, that data is digital surveillance video. These cameras have their own IP addresses so that they can connect directly to a network, allowing them to function in any location with a network connection.

Network IP cameras are connected to a router through an Ethernet cable, which enables two-way communication between the computer and camera. Because the cameras record in digital format, there is no need to convert from analog to digital, allowing for faster transmission. One of the biggest draws of network IP cameras is their capacity to deliver much higher resolution images than analog cameras.

Network IP cameras require Network Video Recorders, or NVRs, to record and store data. NVRs allow you to manage and store your recordings on your computer. Because network IP cameras require lots of bandwidth, other IP technology exists where everything can be processed within the camera itself. Attaching an external hard drive device allows you to store data, while removing the need for an NVR and eliminating bandwidth usage.

Along with the versatility of being installed wherever a network connection is available, these cameras allow live feed access from remote locations. Remote surveillance provides an added sense of security as you can check in on your feed at any time.
