Tips To Help You Keep Your New Year’s Resolution

With the New Year comes resolutions, many of which are dropped early in the year. But why not make this year different? Prove everyone wrong and stick with your resolutions. Here are some helpful tips to achieve success in 2014.

Resolutions are often the same every year. Some popular ones are losing weight or quitting smoking. The problem is people usually use the same approach every time, but fail to realize that it doesn’t work. Try to take a different approach and change your behavior. It takes about 21 days to form a habit, so if you can stick it out for that long, you’re one step closer to your goal.

If you’re working toward a broad goal, such as “losing weight”, you won’t get far. Your goal needs to be specific with a time-frame. Setting up small and realistic goals to reach the ultimate goal may work better too. Try to set a weekly or monthly goal, and modify as needed as you go along.

Another important aspect is to track your progress. For weight loss, there are countless apps out there to help you monitor your improvement. You can also keep a journal or use a calendar to keep track. These can help identify what helps and hinders you. And seeing your successes along the way may serve as motivation for you to continue.

Outside support is helpful too. Friends and family can help you stay on track. They can praise you for doing well or they can help point out when you’re slacking. Figure out who you can trust to help you and not embarrass you and this can work to your advantage. You may even recruit someone to work toward a goal with you. Some friendly competition can add an incentive to “win”.

The most important thing to remember is that it’s okay to make mistakes, no one is perfect. Slipping up in the process is not the end of the world and does not give you the excuse to quit completely. Improving yourself is a process; if or when you slip up, it is important to look at how far you’ve come. If you were able to do it before, you can do it again.

Perspective is key – if you think positively, you will get positive results. If you have any other tips we haven’t mentioned, please share them. You can find us on Twitter, Facebook or Google+.

We would like to wish you a happy new year, may your year be filled with love, happiness & prosperity! We also wish you luck with all your new year’s resolutions – you can do it!

Holiday Layaway Angels

The holiday season is usually a joyous time, when families and loved ones reconvene and spend quality time together. But for some, this can be a stressful time as it’s also the season of gift giving. For those struggling to get by, it may seem near impossible to provide their loved ones with gifts they want or need.

Some stores offer layaway plans, allowing people to somewhat reserve an item and pay in installments. This is helpful for those who live paycheck to paycheck, offering a way to pay off items a little bit at a time rather than paying one lump sum upfront.

But some people really get into the spirit of giving and have been nicknamed “Layaway Santas” or Layaway Angels”. These are people who, whether anonymously or not, pay off strangers’ layaway accounts. This phenomenon gained popularity in 2011, when the first of the “Layaway Santas” struck – the person put down $500 to pay off three layaway accounts.

Since then this generous act has gained attention and many are following suit. Just this year, one Florida man spent $20,000 paying off 76 layaway accounts at a local Wal-Mart store. There is even a website set up (http://payawaythelayaway.org/) where people can donate as little or as much as they want.

The best testimony comes from the families on the receiving end of these holiday miracles. For them, a weight is being lifted off of their shoulders. Even if it is temporary, stress is relieved and the families can enjoy a blessed and blissful holiday.

The bottom line is that these people have earned their titles as “Layaway Angels”. By helping families in need they are spreading joy and cheer. And isn’t that what it’s really all about?

Hidden Cameras on Dairy Farms

Everyone and everything deserves to be treated humanely. Hidden cameras can catch unjust treatment in places such as dairy farms. Animal rights activists and dairy and meat eaters alike would be appalled to find that animals are enduring extreme abuse at the hands of merciless workers.

A dairy farm in Wisconsin is under investigation after allegations of animal abuse, with hidden camera footage as hard evidence to support its claims. The graphic recordings show workers beating, stabbing, and dragging the cows, which the farm firmly states is not part of normal practice. The nature in which these workers are berating and battering these innocent animals may make you sick to the stomach.

With the blatant proof of abuse captured by hidden cameras, the farm in question has fired two workers and another is suspended from working with the animals. Large companies who have done business with this farm in the past have decided to cut ties since the story broke.

Without the hidden cameras, knowledge of this abuse would have never surfaced. It is impossible to know how long this may have been going on or if other farm workers are participating in animal abuse. Animal rights activists may take comfort if all farms used hidden cameras to monitor their workers, but it is clear better regulation is necessary.

Bottom line, abuse is abuse, whether the victim is a child, an elder, a spouse or an animal. Implementation of hidden cameras can provide telltale evidence of violence, cruelty and criminal acts. The way to prevent this is to have strict guidelines and follow-up on proper execution of rules and care. Other farms may want to install hidden cameras now to keep an eye on their workers and avoid poor publicity which will negatively affect their businesses.

Hidden cameras can be beneficial in various settings. They can help catch acts that may normally be overlooked. Browse our selection of hidden cameras at SecurityCamExpert.com. If you have any questions or concerns, contact us toll-free at 1-888-203-6294.
